I work where systems and marketing meet. What I enjoy most is understanding how a team's work actually fits together, from the data and tools to the people using them, and then building something they can rely on without having to think about it. I care just as much about how things look and feel, which is why brand and communication have always been part of my work too. I want the systems and processes behind it all to match the brand and the vision, so the experience feels the same from the inside out.
I spend time up front understanding the whole picture, so that what I build fits how the work actually happens. Then I take it all the way through to building it and keeping it running.
I scope things out properly before building, so the result fits how the work really moves between people.
Before I build anything, I look at what we already have, because that's where most of the surprises are.
Everything I build is documented, so the next person can pick it up without needing me.
I make sure the team understands the reason behind a system, not just the steps.
Most of what I've built started as something nobody had asked for yet.

When I'm not working, I'm usually cooking or out in the garden.
I love to improvise, and cooking is a lot like the work I do.
